Conkering Heroes

In 2009 an enthusiastic gang gathered beneath an ancient chestnut tree at Marle Place, to collect ammunition and compete in the age-old game of conkers. They raised nearly £200.00 for the RNLI.
The winners were Lee Rix and Felix Haigh. Lucy Williams who organised the event said 'the players had such fun we intend to make this fund raiser an annual event.' The date we have chosen for this year's event is 16th October, 10am to 12 noon.
There will be several more exhibitions throughout the
season, details yet to be fixed.
Entrance to all exhibitions is free but entrance to the gardens will be charged
as usual.
